Gallery in the Square was established in 1986 by Liz Reed, and moved to its current location in 1988. In 2006, the gallery was purchased by Kathleen Miclot.  The intimate size of the gallery, as well as its location, offers a wonderful venue for exhibitions.

The gallery now houses several exhibitions a year representing a variety of contemporary regional artists, appealing both to the corporate and private collector.

Gallery In The Square also provides professional custom framing with an emphasis on specialty designs, encompassing gold leaf frames, finished corner profiles and Arts & Crafts style frames. The gallery is a member of and adheres to the specifications provided by the Professional Picture Framers Association for museum quality framing.

Gallery in The Square is also a member of the Shadyside Chamber of Commerce.
